Benefits of Drinking Tea

The positive qualities of drinking tea are unlimited: teas are refreshing, relaxing, and have been proven to have significant physical and mental health benefits. Choosing the right equipment can heighten your tea drinking experience, and enhance your ability to benefit from it’s wonderful qualities. Read on to discover techniques and products to improve your future tea drinking sessions!

Brewing:

The key to brewing a perfect cup of tea correctly comes in five steps: water, amount, temperature, time and equipment.

Water:

Perfect water isn’t critical, but “funny” tasting water (due to minerals and contaminates such as chlorine) can influence the taste of your tea. A carbon filtration pitcher can improve your water if this is the case.

Amount:

When making tea it is important to know how many cups you are making, what size is the kettle you are making it in as well as what device. Some times using too much tea can make your tea bitter and also waste your tea where as  too little will make it weak and not very tasteful. The rule is one Teaspoon per 8 ounce cup (for most tea types) if you don't have instructions that come with your tea, tea bags or loose tea how you like the strength of your tea will be something you will pick up on your own.

Temperature:

If you are new to tea there are many factors that contribute to the enjoyment of tea.  That is getting your water up to the right temprature. If you pre-heat your cup  then once your water reaches it's ideal temperature you can pour and let steep.  However, if you are one that does not pre-heat your cup then let the temperature got 2 to 3 degress past the ideal temperature, the cold cup will reduce the heat once the water is poured in the glass.

SteepTime:

The rule of thumb is 3-5 minutes for most black teas, 2-3 for Oolong and green teas. Equipment: Glass Kettles have many advantage over other materials Aesthetics: Glass tea kettles are modern and visually appealing. When brewing in the kettle, you can see tea leaves rehydrate and blossom. You can also watch the gradual change of the color of the water. Functional: Glass kettles are easy to clean. Look for those that are dishwasher safe to make clean up easier. Integrity of tea taste: Glass tea kettles do not influence the taste of your tea with metallic properties, as many metal kettles may.
